Meet Our Minister
Titus came to GC3 from York, Nebraska. While being a “Husker”, he does NOT like corn on the cob. His family is Jaimee, his wife and Addy, his 2 year old daughter and soon to arrive second daughter. Titus graduated from Summit Christian College, Gering, NE in May 2011. He was ordained in the First Christian Church of Alliance, NE and Summit Christian College of Gering. He was called by GC3 from 4 years as Senior Pastor at First Christian Church of York, NE. Prior to obtaining his degree and ordination, he served for 2 years as an intern and Worship Leader at First Christian Church of Alliance. He has experience in various ministries including High School Bible Study, short term mission trip leader, and Youth Group. Titus is using his musical ability to enhance the GC3 worship team and bring new music into our worship services. Titus has a heart for college ministry and hopes to initiate such a ministry here at GC3 for the local campuses.
Meet the Boss
Paula Ross: Officegal
44 years and counting. The time has gone by like a heartbeat. GC3 has been my family in Christ for all these years. Serving in the office for the past 10 years has been fulfilling, inspirational, maturing and enlightening on the technological front. Having reached retirement age has not caused me to slow down. A wife of 45 years, mother of 3 and grandmother of 6, I never have a dull moment in my life. God showers blessings on me from all sides, both through my family, the GC3 body and the work he allows me to accomplish for His kingdom in the GC3 office.
We understand what love is when we realize that Christ gave his life for us. That means we must give our lives for other believers. -I John 3:16 (GW)
Steve was born and raised in western PA. He was raised Lutheran and continued to attend a Lutheran church from childhood until he was married in 1996. He began attending Memorial Christian Church in Houston, TX after he was married and was immersed into Christ shortly after. Steve works as an economist with the federal government and deserves neither blame nor credit for your perception of the economy at any given moment. He also teaches economics and statistics one night per week at a university in Washington D.C. He currently serves on the Board of Trustees at GC3 and teaches in the Children’s ministry. Steve has absolutely no idea what the future holds for him, but is confident it will be more fulfilling if the path comes from following God and not his own judgement.
Born in Ohio, he lived there until entering the United States Army after graduating from Minerva High School. He is the oldest son of Jerry Potter and Ruth Maurer Potter Betz. During his time in the military, he served overseas in Germany, Saudi Arabia, and Okinawa (Japan). Chris served stateside in South Carolina, Georgia, New Jersey, and North Carolina, before retiring from active duty in Maryland. He still works with the military as a Department of the Army Civilian at Fort Detrick. He currently leads singing on the Praise Team, and serves on the Trustee board. He was instrumental in the workings of the search team to call a new Pastor. He is leading the Audio/Visual Team here at GC3 and is also serving in the Children’s ministry.
Jim has served God through this congregation since 1969, when he married Paula. He was involved in much of the manual labor required to do the ground work for the construction of the current facility. He has served along with his wife as youth group leader, driven the church bus, served as a camp maintenance man at Indian Lake Christian Service camp, Deacon, Board Secretary, property facility manager and been a member of the men’s Bible Study group. He is currently serving as chairman to the Board of Trustees and was a member of the search team as we called a new Pastor. He has been married to his wife Paula for 46 years, has 3 children and 6 grandchildren. His heart desires to leave a legacy for his grandchildren in the Kingdom of God and be instrumental in moving the GC3 congregation forward into a ministry that reaches our surrounding community.
After living in the Frederick area for nearly 33 years, Gerry felt God was redirecting him. After over a year of feeling an ever increasing desire to visit Grace Community Christian Church, an August Sunday in 2011was the launch of a new and very welcome opportunity to serve. After the first Sunday, the desire to visit gave way to the desire to grow through belonging, serving and sharing in the body at GC3. Originally from Pennsylvania, Gerry was raised in the Church of the Brethren, joined the US Air Force after graduation from high school and served in an independent non-denominational church near his home when he returned. The move to the Frederick area took place in 1978 as a result of job change, initially serving locally in the First Christian Church and later in Church of the Brethren. Since coming to GC3, Gerry has become involved with leading the Sunday morning adult class during Sunday School, helping with the Audio/Visual team during worship services and participating as a member of the Board of Trustees. The father of three children and four grandchildren, all living in the area, Gerry has become accustomed to unexpected changes in daily plans. So at joining the ranks of the unemployed and realizing God so graciously provided that job that he moved here to work well into retirement age, adjustment was easy with an anticipation to see what good thing God is now launching in his life.
